Does anybody have any knowledge about prior service bonuses or duty stations of choice?

I never applied for a bonus, even when I was eligible. I saw too many of my friends get screwed that way.

How do people get screwed? I had a buddy that got kicked out for failing too many PT tests and had to pay back some of his bonus, but that was pretty much his fault...

Truth. I’m going through this process now. They won’t lower your rank unless you don’t have the proper training and credentials for E-5. E-4 and below usually has the bonuses.

SGT Terrell Houston - What my rank will be is still a mystery. I got out as an E-5 in 2013 (that's when I ETS'd off Active Duty). I never went to WLC/BLC, which makes me thing that I will get demoted to E-4.

Oh ok. Seeing that you got out in 13’ you may be going through everything again but a shorter version. Possibly you’ll be an E-4 which is good because there are way more opportunities.

SGT Terrell Houston - From what I gather I wouldn't have to back to BCT, since the "timer" starts after your get off IRR (I was in IRR until 2016).
