I need updated information on if you can have last name sewn onto U.S. Army trousers. I had this done in 2017 for BLC in Kuwait due to our laundry situation. AR 670-1 doesn’t specify so further advice/ guidance would be appreciated.

I believe it is in regs, my old first sergeant did the same thing with his old UCP trousers

Sounds like a great idea! Wish I’d thought of it back in the ‘70s when quartermaster laundry would send me back fatigue pants that were someone else’s! Saved me a lot of time and trouble!

I had it sewn on the part where my belt goes so it's covered with my belt so it is never an issue and it still specifies who the item belongs to
