I thought i read something about this awhile ago. I have looked in a few regulations and cant find anything about it. Anyone care to enlighten me on this topic? Thank you.

I'm not sure about the Navy, but in the Army you salute them every time you seat them.

In the Navy, on board ship, you salute JO's once and only on the weather deck. The Navy doesn't salute inside or uncovered. SO's you salute every time you see them topside.

If you've left their presence and then see them again, yes, you salute again.
