I am currently attending college and will graduate in the spring. I am in ROTC and will be sent to Advance Camp in June as an at Camp Commissioning. My fiance is an E3 in the Marines and in BRC. He will be sent to his unit in March. (He already knows we're going to Camp Lejeune.) There is currently a 3-month waitlist. We have a tight timeline. In May I graduate the 12th in Texas, the wedding is the 14th in South Carolina, and we're moving the 16th from Texas to North Carolina. Should I apply in March when he has orders and provide May as the expected date for housing?

If I understand it right, you will be a Commissioned Officer in June married to a Lance Corporal... My recommendation would be to find off-base housing. (This is assuming that on-base housing is still segregated by rank, but my experience with base housing is almost 20 years old... it could be different now.) Regardless of the legitimacy of how you ended up that way, you would still have either an O1 in junior enlisted housing or an E3 in junior officer housing. Either way, it would lead to an uncomfortable situation for both your family and your neighbors.

The simple answer is, when your eligible..

But to give a better answer, we need some specifics that will tell us when that is.
What status are you in now (married, spouse in DEERS?, Married but Dependants not in DEERS, spouse is a service member and you in/ not in the married couples program?)
Do you have orders with concurrent travel for Dependants?
Where are you PCSing to?

Sorry I missed the portion of details when posting the question.
The main issue if the tight timeline. I graduate May 12th in Texas, getting married the 14th in South Carolina, and moving the 16th from Texas to North Carolina. My fiance is E3 in the Marines and will be sent to Camp Lejeune in March. Currently, there is a 3 months waitlist. So should I apply for on-base housing when he has his orders in March and the expected housing date as May?
I know it is a lot of information so thank you for bearing with me.

Until you are in the system as married, you can apply for nothing. Technically, you won't even be in the USMC till graduation/commissioning. I serious doubt you will be able to start this until after the marriage. Welcome to the Military

He won't rate housing until you are married. So until you are married, it's barracks life for him. So enjoy the 3 month waitlist, because you'll be at the bottom of it.
