Can 37Fs attended the W1 SOCM course if their secondary MOS is 68W? If so, to what extent would their medical training be utilized?

If you are under USASOC ie. special operations CA on FBNC. SOCM is a SOCOM course and tyou must be pert of SOCOM to attend.

My apologies, I confused 37s with CA. I do not believe 37s can go to SOCM. I worked there for 18 months in the S3 shop and do not recall any 37s coming through. SOCM is limited to Army medics and Navy corpsman that are assigned or enroute to a SOCOM assignment. Your only probable option is SF selection and volunteer for 18D if selected.

SPC (Join to see), you can do what SGM (Join to see) or try changing your primary MOS to 63W for the foreseeable future and request a SOCOM assignment (there are prerequisites that must be met, but it doesn't help to try).

Nope. We don't have spots on our teams for W1 Medics. Should we? Absolutely. But we are not MTOED for such. Legend has it that one person got it as a reenlistment incentive, but that is after they spent time in the regiment. Your best bet is to either go 68W, 38B (CA, they have an opportunity to go to SOCMC once they graduate) or go the 18D route.
