Has anyone here received promotion points for your 7D or 7E ASI? I've heard of some who have and wondered if it's because you went back to Gordon to receive the training, or you got points for the classes you attended in phase 2 of mos training?

SSG (Join to see) I would suspect you would get promotion points based on the school length and not the ASI itself.

This is for 25S, and since I know of others receiving points for the hours as you mentioned, I'm having trouble proving to my s1 whether or not the identifier is required to hold the mos. The ASI is meant to be a destination ASI, either tactical or strategic. S1 says that since it is included in the initial mos training that it appears to be just phase 2. In addition though at the end of training there was a two week module that I received 8 points for. The ASI is on the atrrs list, but do points only count for those who go back for the training after they have been mos qualified? On the other hand, if every 25s got the points for that section of training wouldn't it just raise the current point level that is already in the 600s? Or is it kept quiet and those who figure it out win the promotion point lottery?

If you received it during initial training I would say you only get it if it was outside initial training. Though the S-1 might help you out more by knowing the regulations.

Identifiers are not qualifiers to hold an MOS. They are skills required for a particular position on your manning roster(a First Sergeant position requires the "M" for completing 1SG Course, most Operations Sergeant positions require "2S"-Battle Staff NCO). If you received training during AIT or an MOS school that qualifies for an ASI/SQI, you would not get any additional points. Points are awarded for schools beyond BCT/AIT.

Thanks 1SG. That's what I figured. I finally got the class to come up on ATRRS and found the answer to my question.
