I became MP platoon leader in my California ARNG after completing OCS. I am sure you have active duty, Army Reserve and Army National Guard slots available Nationwide.

Gotcha thank you. Do you know if it matters that I would only be doing 2 years in the rotc cause I already have my associates degree?

Personally, I don't know since I got my commission after college. I'm sure some here can help you out. Best thing is to call your ROTC staff at the University you want to attend. It should not be a problem. There may be a faster track for you. You might have to do additional training to make up for what you didn't do but I'm sure you will not be the only one in this situation. Sometimes, you don't know what branch you're going to get. If military police is your primary or First Choice, pick a second choice and a third choice.

ROTC has 2-3 year programs to get commissioned.

I was also branched MP after ROTC. It was not my first choice.

In the guard and reserve you can get a memo from a unit accepting you in to any slot you qualify for to get the branch you want. If you are interested in serving in the reserve this is a great system.

Active they do a good job of getting most people something in their top 3 choices.

Officers don't get to pick their jobs. You'd be able to guarantee it more in the National Guard but it's still the Army. As far as active duty, you get to tell them what you want to do and then it comes down to the needs of the Army and your performance in ROTC.
