I am reenlisting. I got out about 2 years ago. I was in the army reserve. I am just about done with my reenlistment and I am now married and going active. I know I have to go through a quick training course since I've been out for 2 years. My questions are: Where can 12N be stationed and what places are most likely? Can my wife come with me? Where will/can we live? How long are you at one duty station typically? I am new to the active army so any advice from current or former engineers is great or anyone with active duty advice or info. Thanks in advance.

Many questions- Wife can go with you to your 1st duty station if CONUS. Length of station normally 2-3 years and up. Living space depends on whether you want on base housing or rent/buy off base. Go to Army times or something similar and google engineer units- then see if they have your MOS.

The most likely places are those you don’t want to go. Take Carson if you can

Im 12N but Airborne, so at Bragg. I have friends from AIT that were sent to Lewis (WA), Carson (CO), Campbell (KY) and we all are married. There isnt a post that I know of that doesnt take 12N, with their families
You can live on post, you can go “house hunting” in the communities on post. Youll live by all junior enlisted who are also married. Or you can live off post and rent/buy like you normally would as a civilian
