If I’m PCS’ing with TDY en route, does the Government pay for my lodging and meals?

I currently am on day 8 of my 9 day travel to Virginia, I’ve been putting my hotel fees on my government Travel card. Will the army reimburse me for the hotels and per Diem each travel day? I’ve heard the Army doesn’t pay for hotels when TDY enroute.

Your PCS orders cover your PCS travel. "The order directs travel to, from, or between official points and serves as the basis for the trip and associated reimbursements." "Military PCS orders are valid for travel and transportation allowances to the new PDS named in that PCS order while the order remains in effect." When you arrive, you'll file your travel voucher and include your hotel receipts. You can read up on it yourself in the Joint Travel Regulation http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/Docs/perdiem/JTR.pdf

WO1 (Join to see) - Ok. Nice chance at a bit of a tour of the US. In my rusty brain I thought the Army started flat rating travel pay. They decide what you should get and pay you that when you out process. Or maybe you got 75% of the estimate then you filed your voucher. I thought hotels were legit. Maybe your out going finance didn't realize you were TDY enroute?

WO1 (Join to see) - Honestly can't remember but I know I stayed in hotels on travel and if we were not being paid I'm sure my wife would have been poking me in the eyes about it. Initially I looked at your profile and I saw 101st and thought 9 days from Stewart to Virginia? What the heck was he authorized walking?

My orders don’t say anything about it and my 1510 just covers my per Diem for my PTDY
