Alc is required for promotion. I am going to recruiting school and from what I was reading I can’t leave for any schools until six months of recruiting. Does recruiting school count as ALC? Also I don’t want to go to alc for my mos because I still have three years of recruiting and I’ll forget most of everything.

Actual current Recruiter here. Yes, if you convert to 79R as E5, the ARC counts.
I am currently promotable, I have ALC on my SRB, and I have never gone to any other ALC for a prior MOS. It automatically populated upon graduation. This is how it is - now-.

This is correct. There is no ALC for mos 79R.

You can get auto-converted upon accession by HRC.

SGT (Join to see) - I have not seen a SGT become a permanent recuter that is normally a SSG or SFC however to be promoted you need the ALC for your primary MOS.

It is definitely not a substitute to ALC and as long as you're promotable there is a good chance you could attend ALC while on recruiting duty

Current E5 Recruiter. This is all speculation, and it's all rather wrong.
