This is for the traditional Guard/Reservists out there. For the past year I’ve been living in Japan working a civilian job while balancing my military service obligation. As Reserve Component soldiers serving overseas (either TPU or IMA), what are the benefits or difficulties you have encountered (work, service, culture, family, etc.)?

Sir, I have a question about this. I'm personally interested in working a civilian jobs overseas (still unknown) how does that work if I'm in the Reserves? Do I find a reserve unit where I'm looking to work?

SN (Join to see) The most convenient option is find an IMA position depending on your branch of service. Also the Army Reserves has a TPU, USARPAC-SU, at Camp Zama.
