With election results coming in will we see any changes in the military?

It is commonly thought that Republicans are more supportive of the Armed Forces, while the Democrats lean more to cut the force. With the House and Senate both being Republican in a few months will that change? In the meantime with the budget still unresolved will there be a standoff or another continuing resolution without much change to what it is now?
