I was looking for a job for a considerable amount of time. Another Soldier told me about RallyPoint and I thought what the heck I will sign up. I created my account and had barely finished posting my resume and profile when Joseph Wong contacted me. He works as the recruiting director for the talent acquisition team at Time Warner Cable. My first thoughts are and words to Joe were I am not a sales person, no way no how can I sell anything, he laughed. Joe took the time to talk to me determine what my background skills were, what my aspirations were, what my limitations and apprehensions were, and learn me. From there Joe worked with me on identifying jobs that would fit our discussions. He was not only looking at jobs with Time Warner Cable his employer, but Joe also looked outside that company and put me in contact with other individuals he thought would fit my needs. He mentored me and coached me on how to translate my military accomplishments and skills into the civilian work force. I received a call stating that I had an interview with TWC for a position and this happened after about 1-2 weeks of talking with Joe the first time. Joe continued to encourage me to look around and let him know of what I was seeing and what I was interested in and that if he could open a door for a discussion with that company he would. I did the interview and got the job. HAD it NOT BEEN FOR RallyPoint I would have never met Joseph Wong and I would have never realized that there are companies and people out there who are fighting for the Veterans and willing to go the extra miles to ensure that there is a easy transition from military life to civilian workforce. I would recommend this team of talent acquisition specialist any day of the week. They have the Veterans best interest at heart and will do whatever it takes to help you. I highly recommend Time Warner Cables talent search team.

MSG Sommer Brown we are honored to have you join us. You left out the part that you worked tirelessly to learn more about the process and had the patience to endure the wait. MSG Sommer Brown - Congrats! So happy to hear you landed at TWC. The RP community has really been singing the praises of Joseph Wong, Travis Triggs, and LTC Paul Turevon for some time now. They really hold veteran hiring to such a high level of importance that they will regularly send members outside of their own company if they can't find a location hiring close enough to our members. This really shows it's all about the veteran to them. We are all behind you 100% as you take the next big step! Best of luck at TWC. Cheers!

Capt Brandon Charters any possibility that RP will venture with federal employment opportunities for veterans? I'm looking for federal employment that will consider my MBA degree.

Great to hear SrA (Join to see)! Actually talking with senior members of the Federal Executive Board as we speak. I'll keep you posted on what happens on that front!

Also, thank you to Joseph Wong and the Time Warner Cable team for connecting with MSG Sommer Brown and getting to know her for all the skills and experiences she brings to the table. Hat tip to Joseph Wong and I hope more of his peers follow his excellent example.
