Meant to put this here
I think most enlisted personnel have discussed this before.
A bachelors degree does not always equal leadership. What alternative ways would you propose to becoming a commissioned officer?

The degree requirements will always be there, but just like in the civilian world, a degree doesn't mean you know anything. The best officers I ever served with were prior enlisted. I wish that could somehow be a requirement, but I know that'll never happen.

You won't get around the education.
Let's say E7 with 15 years may be eligible for consideration as an alternative. Guess what... A Bachelors is generally a requirement to get that rank.

Right, I'm not suggesting that the education isn't helpful, important, or a great way of filtering for potential leaders.
I'm just wondering if anyone thinks there should be alternative routes in some cases.

A four year degree is just a way to scene candidates. Any sharp and ambitious enlisted Soldier can attain a degree of they wish to become an officer.
