What ever happened to the Air Force's proposal for a new Dress Uniform?

The reason I ask is because the Army recently announced they are looking at returning to the WWII era Pinks and Greens. I recall the Air Force looking into a new Service Dress a while back and just wondered what ever came of it. My guess is AF Brass doesn't want to spend the money.

MSgt (Join to see) I wish they would. I think we have one of the most boring dress uniforms out of the service branches. We simply look like we're wearing suit jackets bought at JC Penney's. We need to add some accents or service stripes or something that makes it stand out!

You're right about that, SSgt (Join to see). On the other hand, the Army made a bonehead uniform change (just one of many) when they converted dress blues to ASUs. To see a tan or green beret, perched atop a dark blue jacket and light blue pants with gold stripes everywhere (and bloused boots as well), simply looks clownish to me.
MSgt (Join to see) mentions the possibility of the Army returning to the WWII era pinks and greens. I think that would be a great move, but it will never happen. You want to know why? The jacket is belted like all the Marine dress uniforms. That's OK for the USMC, because they won't allow fat guys. The Army, however, is "filled" with them! :)
