Ebola outbreak: Millions of doses of vaccines planned by 2015.
Given the low infection rate in the US, and relative difficulty in catching the virus, would you succumb to the hype and rush to get vaccinated?
I know I would not. Not with a rushed, marginally tested vaccine for a virus that in my opinion is not a threat in the US.
I should note, that a vaccine may be of immeasurable help in regions where Ebola is out of control. Quite frankly, those communities have nothing to loose and any potential risks from a new vaccine are clearly outweighed by the consequences of not trying to stop the spread.
I also wonder, when a vaccine becomes available, will the DOD add it to the military vaccination program.

I work in a hospital lab, should we get an Ebola patient in I still won't have contact. We now have disposable equipment where all testing is done bedside. At tremendous cost. No, the vaccine is a waste even at my level. Nurses are safe if they follow std precautions.

I agree with you, 1SG (Join to see). I don't see Ebola as a threat here in the USA right now, so I would probably choose not to get the vaccine.
I think it would be great if we could help those threatened by this disease (in Africa) with doses of the vaccine. That's probably the best assistance we could provide.

I believe the current state of our unprotected border, and the CDC reporting diseases they have not seen in decades are a direct attack right here at home akin to the attack on 9/11. It is just more insidious. I pray that we elect people with integrity and arrest the majority of the people in office now and find out how deep the treason goes!

And if isolated cases keep on popping up, I would pray about it and probably get vaccinated just to be on the safe side....depending upon the efficacy of the vaccine.
