Canadian war memorial
Just wanted to share this. I found it very moving. It depicts CPL Cirillo being comforted by the figures of the Canadian War Memorial where he was attacked while standing guard. To me it looks like they are welcoming him into the memorial. He stood on guard for Canada and I think we Americans should remember what a great friend the Canucks are.

Very moving. So so sad. I have been praying for his family. Why things like this have to happen I will never know. He was standing guard honoring those who came before him and paid the ultimate price for freedom. I can think of no more honorable duty. As an American I salute him and his sacrifice to his nation.

Rest easy CPL Cirillo, you have done your duty. Please know that others will continue to stand in your stead. You will not be forgotten.

Yes they are sir! May his family find solace.

Rest In Peace Cpl. Nathan Cirillo.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

From Laurence Binyon's poem For the Fallen, written in September 1914
