I have heard time and again that we nefarious warriors have to acquiesce to ideas that don't even work in the real world. Where are the changes that matter? Hate and destructive bigotry meets the road in the Military.
And for all that talk of change do we still have homeless vets? You bet and I think we look at this numerically by redefining problems and calling those things solutions. I believe we are our brother's keeper but to do that we have to be strong ourselves.
When I was homeless I saw enough B.S, to last me for two lifetimes. There are a lot of veterans falling through the cracks? And what places like Detroit? The people there are good people with a few morons but otherwise our government is doing nothing constructive.
Our military brotherhood far outstrips the civilian population for tolerance and once we get some experience the full magnitude of regulations are well understood. I have seen some remarkable young SMs basically being overrun with stupidity and thus falling out. When make life easier for someone else we make it better for all, military and civilian. We are not civilians and we lack some of the fundamental protections that civilians do and that is why we have had things the Soldiers and Sailors Protection Act. Things COLA standards that bring our living up to par for a good job that is generally not comprehended by people who hate us or who just don't care.
Our unity comes from a singleness of purpose and that is readiness for a potential war and we have a lot of things to ponder. Regardless of one's take on President Obama, it is a crazy hard job. In baseball you take your eye off the ball you can get a black eye or worse. So, I think our values can be discussed but sometimes we have rascals trying to play us. What I do see from senior officers and NCOs is a low regard for pandering.
We also need to hear and work with those of different viewpoints within the military who know our needs and the stresses of active duty life.
What are your concerns? All opinions matter especially if we are working together. Do others want to listen or just want to preach?

My concerns are the over all welfare of the people. I have nothing against helping other countries, but just feel like it's hypocritical. We're so quick to aid somebody else, but we're neglecting what's happening here. How are you going to go help clean up somebody else's house and yours is filthy.

Yeah and for what? I met a guy at a soup kitchen who by the way was black and this police officer tells him to get to the side. He turned to me and said he didn't deserve that and I told him that I am Air Force too. I wanted to go up to that itchy cop and tell her off. I felt he was slighted and disrespected and it is sad when someone goes for help and the people who are supposed to not judge make you feel bad.
A few weeks later in Raleigh I am taking this course and one of my friends from the class came up to me and told me he needed a white guy. We go into s Subway and the owner is Middle Eastern and would not serve him. So we go back and I tell him that he is a veteran just like me.
Now my girlfriend now is dark skinned Asian girl and she too has been treated shoddily and yeah why aren't our own people getting the help they need? Why do we want to let people get into this country who are here illegally and get services that other people need.
Again in Raleigh this lady I know (nice nice girl) went to the soup kitchen there and another girl was talking about a guy who was kicked out. She said the guy used to be very normal but prison messed him up. His condition may have been his fault but as an American he gets first dibs on care and compassion. My friend who is African-American always was very gracious to the various volunteers manning the kitchen. I think a lot of people talk about helping and then fall way short. Some individuals get a job and forget where they come from and put down people they do not understand.
So while I consider myself conservative and not the biggest fan of President Obama, I do still think that people come first and wasting it on plans we do not even hardly use is a crime to all of us. Yet we people in both parties and all races getting over while the truly needy are pushed to the side. Not to mention that serious diseases have come across the border and they get priority over you and I! That is BS. We served this nation and learned quite a bit of good things but politicians are largely selling us out and it has to stop. Taking pay away from vets and some saying we need to suffer and sacrifice. We already have and we were not drafted. OH yeah you got me going. lol
