I have been selected for Green to Gold Active duty Option and simultaneously promoted to E5. Should I get a new ASU?

My ROTC POC said that new ASUs will be issued to all cadets. However, since I am selected under Green to Gold ADO, do I still wear NCO version ASUs or the cadet version. My ROTC university has not received G2G candidates in about 8 years and is not exactly sure. I know that I still get E5 pay and benefits but what is my rank while in school? Am I a cadet or a sergeant? Will I ever need E5 version ASU?
Thank you for the responses in advance.

You should only need to sew on a stripe on the pants, if an occasion for wear happens before you assume duties as an officer.
Once you pin on bars, you will be making enough changes that you will probably need to make the investment. The good news is that you will get a significant uniform allowance when you first commission.
Good luck, and congratulations on both the promotion and selection for G2G.

Have you contacted your ROTC program for the school you are being accepted to? Just ask. Some schools like to wear them for classes. Others, not so much. My school didn't bust out dress unless it was dining out or graduation. The G2G guys just wore what they had, bells and whistles.
Best bet, just ask them what they do. But, honestly, you'll probably be ok. Our G2G guys were appreciated for the peer source of experience.

Thank you for the response sir. Looks like the ROTC issues new ASUs which looks different than both NCO or Officer version. I will just wear what they issue out if needed.

You’re a cadet, but when I was in ROTC, all of the prior service guys wore their ASUs with their ranks sewn in. It’ll make no difference really, because everyone is already gonna know you’re prior service, whether you wear your old rank or not.
