I enlisted as a 15p and I have a 4 year contract and I was planning on like later on becoming a combat engineer, mp, or cab scout. I also heard my mos is pretty over strengthed so would that mean reclassing during your first contract would be easier ?

What do you want to do? Doing something you like is better then a promotion to something that you don't.

Like everyone has said above, you should choose your MOS based off of what your goal is say 5-20 years down the road. Do you want to be in the Army for 5-10 years and then get out or 20+ years and retire? You mentioned taking college courses earlier. If your sole intention for joining the Army is strictly paying for college then I would suggest finding the most menial MOS that typically has the most free time and go with that. MP is definitely not that job. Free time wise that is. If you want to gain an actual skill/trade from the Army that you can use on the civilian side when you get out, then I wood heed the advice given to you by your family. They're pretty much right on with what they said. There are a few other career fields that offer legitimate experience you can use as well after the Army. If you want to go into law enforcement after the military, being an MP wont really make a difference. If you want to be an MP just to be an MP, then have at it. Just gather as much information as possible to make an informed and rational decision.

SSG (Join to see) - Hello SSG Mathew Howell, I know a young lady who wants to join the Air Force. She wishes to get her driver's license but struggles with money. I would like to know if she can obtain one with the assistance of The Air Force after her enlistment? Do you know if this is possible?

PVT Kurtis L. Miller - well the military is not going to help someone get a drivers license. They are not that much. She should not need one for most things in the Air Force. That is something that she is going to need to do if she wants to be driving.

15P might be a good segue into Air Traffic Control. Use this time to enhance your skill sets, take correspondence courses, ace your PT test and marksmanship, and find ways to take initiative. When the time comes to go and swap MOSs your unit and command will be behind you. Why do I say Air Traffic Control?

Just like pilots and mechanics, controllers are going to be the next big choke point on the aviation machine. Fairly rewarding career, awesome job, and great benefits. If I ever lose my medical as an aviator, I will go be an Air Traffic Controller.

Personally I would recommend getting you a which gives you legitimate skill sets \ job opportunities for after you get out. Especially if the mos gets you a top secret security clearance.
I currently know about paramedics and security guards making high five figures, some even six figures annually because they have a top secret clearance.

Woah I didn’t know the top secret clearance could get you that much. How it’s like being a combat engineer?
