Actually, "Smartbook" DA PAM 611-21, table 4-3 (around pg 55) states that PMP lists as ASI W5. Here's the rub, according to the paragraph its only authorized for 12A Engineers CPT through COL. So even if CPT Jones who is a PMP wizard cannot get it. I would assume that it is put on the ORB under certifications. You can find the document on MilSuite at https://www.milsuite.mil/book/groups/smartbookdapam611-21. Hope this helps.

That's odd because the PMP cert is not specific to the engineer or construction disciplines

MAJ Chu, it was just added with a bunch of other Engineer ASIs in the last few years. the engineer schoolhouse has information on how to get it added. I'm not sure if you can get it if you're not a 12A

I might be able to add, but it may not matter to promotion board or to MOS / branch code. As a DA contractor, I previously taught the 'Tactical Information Operations Course' and received Army Basic Instructor Course certification. Both certificates are in my iPerms, but I am still classified on the rolls as a 90A.

LTC Eugene Chu - I have a similar situation - I was a Program Manager as a GS civilian in DoD and the army granted me the 51A Functional Area (partly as I also did an ADOS tour supporting acquisitions), but it doesn't really do anything for promotions.
