TSgt Joshua Copeland, yes, they do. It's been around for many years. I'm not sure with the other branches but the Army even has a regulation and form to apply for the Chess Tournaments. DA Form 4878 "Army Chess Tournament Application" and AR 215-1, Chapter 8-16m2. In order to participate though, you have to be a member of the USCF and get a memorandum from your commander to participate. I wanted to participate many years ago but never took the time to actually do it. Would have been fun!!!
