I am a fairly old veteran. I enlisted just over half a century ago and retired 27 years ago.. Some one please tell me what is a "CAC"?

Got you covered Chief. A CAC is a Common Access Card, it is the common name for the Geneva Conventions ID Card/Military ID. It displays your Name, Rank, Picture, and DOD ID Number. In addition it also has a Chip that can be read via a CAC Reader when connected to a computer to allow the service member access to DOD Websites and some other functions.

SPC (Join to see) - Thank you very much for your assistance to this dinosaur. I think RP should consider a tab for us old vets that works like Google so we can look up all these new terms, names, etc.

I have not found the computer yet that loves the CAC or DOD websites Sir. Then again our own military computers don't seem to like them much either...

Taking this great opportunity, I want to tell you about very useful information that will definitely come in handy in the future. Here's an article at https://www.it4nextgen.com/best-laptops-for-studying/ that compiled the five best laptops for study in 2021. As opportunities for online and distance learning continue to grow every day, mobility has become a particularly important factor for students when it comes to creating the learning environment.
