I have been selected for the Green to Gold Active duty option. Is anyone familiar with the P9/11 Bill usage during my time in Green to Gold?

Noy true. You are responsible to pay the tuition for the G2G program. Which means you will (most likely) use your GI Bill benefits to pay for the tuition. If the school has the yellow ribbon program than that will cover any remain fees (if the GI Bill doesn't already cover it). Also, put in a FAFSA application for that school. You could be eligible for a pell grant which would give you alittle extra cash to cover books or other miscellaneous expenses. Hope this helps.

Sir,
I did receive approximately $10,000 in grants from my university. That added with what my P911 bill provides, I am going to finish my B.S. and 3 semesters of my M.A. for free.
Did you end up commissioning through the G2G program?

Sorry for the late response. Yes. I commissioned through G2G. Best decision I’ve ever made. Love the job so far. Good luck to you SGT Hood!

There should be no need to use the GI Bill for the Active Duty green to gold. All tuition should be taken care of as part of the program.

Sir and SFC, respectfully, I discovered that for G2G ADO, all selectee's must use their GI bill. The reason for this is because ADO means "Active Duty Option", meaning we still get active duty paychecks, E5 BAH, and all the active duty entitlements like medical, dental, commissary and ETC. I had to use the VONAPP website with the VA to apply for my P911 bill. My letter of eligibility came in the mail last week. I had to submit my P911 bill to my Universities VA office.
All tuition assistance stops while in the green to gold program.
If my situation has your attention, you will be surprised to know that my school is too expensive for what the P911 bill provides annually, by about $8,000. Luckily, my school (California Baptist University) is a part of the yellow ribbon program, meaning the difference is paid off. I am not having to pay out of pocket, unless you count the P911 bill as out of pocket.

2LT (Join to see) so the answer is yes you are responsible for your own tuition. However you pay for that is up to you. GI Bill, Yellow Ribbon, your bank acct whatever. You will still be paid as a SGT and if promotable and selected you can still be promoted to the next higher grade while in school.
