Interesting article regarding the recent apparent absence of Kim Jong Un in North Korea and North Korean politics.

Very good, SFC Mark Merino. I enjoyed that movie. It is, after all, ronery at the top. (And you should know, Mr. #1 of 160,000 veterans!)

If he isn't in charge now, is this good or bad for South Korea? Could we see a unification of the peninsula?

CNN said earlier today that tomorrow (Korea time) is an important time, because Kim should appear at some function. If he doesn't appear, it could mean there's trouble brewing. Also, I read (maybe in the article I posted) that the #2 and #3 military leaders were visiting South Korea recently, during the time that Kim was absent from the scene. Could be nothing, but it's interesting, to say the least.

This whole "inheritable regime" thing has got to end, along with NK's utter mismanagement.

I still wonder about the feasibility of unification between the Koreas. I know that the state-run media in the North has likely diluted their citizens' support for the idea over the years, but even they have to know it would be better for them if they did.
