I have been promotable since March 2017 and have contacted the school's branch at HRC almost every other week to try and get an ALC class date or see when the next available classes are. It seem that nothing is available until next year. Why only slot a limit of 16-20 SM per class?

I just went through ALC after a 3 year wait. We were the last class with 32 students. Their funding got cut really bad and that was their excuse which makes sense. It just sucks. If you are close to Augusta or can get your unit to cut you orders they accept walk ons. phase 2 and 3 we were supposed to have 3 people show up for both of them, and no one did. So you can walk on pretty easy.

It is a good class, just make sure to pay attention in the networking. If you need any help feel free to reach out. I still have all my notes

Anyone can provide some details on the course for ALC 25U? If we’re staying on base? Or hotel? And what the schedule looks like?

I am a 25U. From the time that I got my promotable status to the time that I went to ALC was almost two years. I have seen that there tends to be a backlog of NCOs that needs to go ALC so you just know that your turn will come. One thing the HRC SGM told us a few months ago was that soldiers could submit a 4187 in order to put you in a “short notice list”. As you probably already know, many soldier end up cancelling their class for some reason or another (emergencies, etc.). When this happens, HRC can start looking for potential soldiers to fill out the class. If this happens you might have only a few days to get ready and report to Fort Gordon.

And to answer your question, the classrooms can only hold so many people. Also know that 25U’s are not the only ones attending NCOES schools and quarters can only hold so many people. You have 25Bs, 25Us, 25C, and all the other Signal MOS in there. Additionally, the SLC students are there too.

SSG,
I tried to submit a 4187 to HRC but the School Branch for 25 series said they are no longer accepting 4187's and that they go strictly off the OML. Also so when you went to ALC your class had 25B's and 25C's?

My class only consisted of 25Us. What I meant was that the facilities can only so hold so many people especially since we have many MOSs within the Signal Corp. Additionally, the barracks that my class stayed in also had guys from the 25D course.

I don't have access to ATTRS any longer to confirm class size...But from when i ran a Division Schools program I can tell you many of the low density technical MOS had small class size due to a singly restriction in the pipe line.. say equipment, a lab needed, available instructors for one component of the course, security access to a needed component or place of training, housing, and many other reasons.

So first things first, While I low Pax count per "class" sometimes often a new class started weekly...Have you looked at ATTRS and confirmed the class schedule? Have you confirmed class size or is this all just what someone told you?
