Which branches are taking prior services right now?

I finally got my orders that discharged me from the National Guard to the IRR. Right now I'm strongly thinking about staying Army but I have some time and I would like to explore options. I would like to stay infantry or an infantry type job. Any recommendations or advice is appreciated.

Best bet is to contact some Recruiting offices and get the skinny straight from them

My recruiter told me it's hard as hell to switch once your in as of right now, the whole trainee system is swamp full of new high school grads going active, that it's real tough to flip from Guard to active in peace time. I'd re-up, and ask for a release if we end up in a time of war again

The Army is, but you are over seas and, there are details that matter, like your RE code, how long you served and what was your rank upon discharge to name a couple

Make sure you have an RE 1 code, it's the easiest to get back in. I know a lot of recruiters are looking for 11Bs. I'm in the same boat just wanting to go 68W. Seems like all the Active recruiters are wanting to push me back to the Infantry.

My buddies told me me that they're sending all the prior National Guard infantry guys to the Triple Deuce at Drum.
