How many of my peer brothers and sisters went in to a career of Law Enforcement after the military? I did it and now work in the civilian sector as a Security Consultant (basically a bodygaurd for talent) for a major sports entertainment company (involving pro wrestling) No names due to being a sub-contractor. In my LEO carreer I reached the rank of Lieutenant and was a Chief Investigator working the major case squad. Lets hear from you.

Yes. Post USMC I was a police officer in Texas. I served as an investigator, supervisor, instructor, and later Chief Instructor of a Regional LE academy.
Currently, I work in Homeland Security. Similar, but not quite the same.

Sargent Garzon when I was in the Army NG there was a number of guys that were full time law enforcement. We had police, sheriff deputies, and a few highway patrol. I remember one guy in particular because he gave his own mother a moving violation ticket. Also one time I was pulled over (for no reason other than it was 2 am) by a cop that turned out to be a Marine. A friend of mine in the front seat was in the Corp and they knew each other. The next thing I know we're talking shop about firearms with me holding his loaded sidearm. It was like a gun show on the side of the road. 2 assault rifles and four handguns between the 5 of us. Other two guys in back were an Army sniper and a Navy Seal Medic. An hour later we pack up and move out. Did you ever let any service member slide?

All the time! If it was a minor offense. it is like a fraternity. We take care of our own.

And that was all branches. It was hard to turn our heads on DWI/DUI's in car video. And it was under lock and key when I was on patrol.

I considered going LE when I was TPU, but finally got a teaching job. I have thought about going to LE when I retire. What route did you do? Did you go to an academy or?

SFC (Join to see) I get furious just watching Law and Order SVU sometimes....I cannot imagine investigating or being the first on scene.

SFC (Join to see) LTC (Join to see) I worked as a civilian US Army CID Special Agent in the Special Victims Unit and investigated numerous brutal child assaults and too many child sexual assaults. Hardest investigations were always the child and infant deaths. You never truly accept a life lost before it has been lived. The faces of the children are with me forever.
