Finish your EN CCC and then go to the HRMQC. Having 42B/H as an additional MOS is very useful in the AGR system.

Thank you, sir. I was told CCC was the place to re-class (is that incorrect?). I am trying to determine whether to do EN, AG, or Logistics CCC. I've been told Logistics is best for career longevity. Not sure how far to invest as an EN. Really appreciate your advice.

I wouldn't disagree with the feedback you've gotten so far. Do you dislike being an EN? Look at AGR announcements and watch the trends. Also, understand why we have full-timers, to handle the full-time requirements that units have, which are mostly sustainment-related. If you're trying to go into the AGR system, it's not a bad idea to take the less-desireable jobs or ones with high turnover. If you went to LCCC and then HRMQC (the two-week transition course requires that you've already graduated from another CCC), I would say that's a pretty hire-able situation. On the Guard side, I'd suggest looking at CSTs. No idea about USAR... Civil Affairs?

MAJ (Join to see) - Thank you very much, sir. I like the esprit de corps of the Engineers, but am hoping to hang in there for another 6-14 years and want to avoid being pigeon-holed (depending on whether I stay TPU or go AGR/AD).

No problem, Lieutenant. Ultimately, you should decide on something you can live with doing for the next 6-14 years that you'll enjoy. Whatever it is, be the best and be your own advocate, and I'm sure you'll be fine. Pigeon-holing may always happen regardless, but you can negate it with good KD assignments.

Logistics and an overall Operations background is needed most in the AGR program based on my experience as a TPU member!

The AGR program is starving for 12A LTs and CPTs.

Hey Sir, do you have any knowledge on what states are in need for 12A LTs?

I was USAR AGR, but converted from AD when I was a senior captain. I had a LT plt ldr and CPT co cdr in my Bn when I had command in '11-13 in WI. Not sure how many slots there are, but USARC control them. You might also try to contact the administrations of the two TECs (412th and 416th). The 412th commands all En units east of the MS river and the 416th all the western units.

As far as ARNG AGR, that is controlled by each state's two-star commanding general.
