SFC (Join to see) maybe....but IMHO the problem with running wars according to the polls is no one will sack up and tell the American people what they NEED to hear. NOT what they WANT to hear. I always thought the hallmark of leadership was getting people to do things that they may not or would not necessarily do on their own. What the American people need to hear is the truth: ISIS is not going to go away because we ask nicely. They are not going to negotiate. They are not go to be destroyed by bombs from 20000ft AGL. The only way to destroy them is up close and personal. To beat somebody you have to utterly destroy their will to fight. If that means shoving a bayonet into their throat, then so be it. If that means killing every last one of them then salting the Earth afterwards, so be it. There is a reason why no one fucked with the Romans (at least during the height of the Republic and Empire).

LTC Paul Labrador , Sir, I agree with you. IMHO, the reason we are dropping bombs and we are not "up close and personal" as you put it is the sensationalized view of war and the pitfalls thereof brought to the American People by the ultra-liberal media.

My personal opinion was that we have ISIS, who hates us, fighting with Syrians, who hate us, and Iranians, who hate us. We can probably hold off on the bombing and let them kill each other for a while.

I watched this movie several times - and this particular scene just always stuck out to me - so I pulled it from the film, for others to see. I take no credi...
I couldn't help but to think of the scene from "We were Soldiers" when I read your post, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLaTyNe8mg0

Congress goes in to recess for two months so they don't have to debate it or authorize it.
