Hi! I'm going to couch this in general terms as I'm a psychologist... My first question regards timing. How long ago was your most recent concussion? Have you or were you assessed for post concussion syndrome? I would encourage you to speak to your PCM about your concerns, and request either further evaluation (there may be a TBI clinic near you) and/or a referral to occupational therapy. If you're not familiar with OT, it's not unlike physical therapy, except that PT is trying to "fix" the ailment whereas OT is trying to help you live better with the ailment.

With that said, there are plenty of activities you can do to help manage stress or anger better. Some common techniques include diaphragmatic breathing (you might see it referred to as belly breathing or tactical breathing), progressive muscle relaxation, and mindfulness exercises. I would encourage you to contact your local mental health clinic as they can help you refine your coping skills to manage distress better.

I would also generally advise you to be patient with yourself... mTBIs can have lingering effects, and it can be a struggle to overcome and deal with these. Best of luck to you.

I have a PCM in 3 weeks and Ann Arbor has a TBI clinic. Last was in 2008 and YES-Post Concussion Syndrome. Just miss the OLD ME-the fun loving and happy me. Just want to be better than I am now for the wedding and beyond. Thank you for helping me and giving hope Major...

Stop... Think ... and remember... what you are trying to do, and How You, in fact used to do them...
