An aggregate period of active duty after September 10, 2001 of at least 24 months < 30 months gets an 80% benefit; 30 months <36 months gets 90%. I was active duty until 12/31/02 (1 Year, 112 days), had 40 days ADT, and am on a mob where I anticipate 394 days active including terminal leave. That is 2 years, 181 days. Do I need 183 days for 6 months, or is it in 30 day increments?

Post 9/11 GI Bill recipients serving on Active Duty (or transferee spouses of a servicemember on active duty) are not eligible to receive a monthly housing allowance.

It may seem trivial; however, if they view 6 months as a half year (i.e. 183 days) then I'll stick around Norfolk for the optional TAP class to get a few extra days. An extra 10% that I can transfer to my kids at the cost of a few extra days before getting cut loose is a no-brainer; however, I don't want to delay getting home if not needed.
