Where should surplus military equipment go? Should there be any surplus equipment or only order and receive what is needed?
Should it be sold to allies, sold in stores in the US, given armies we are training, left behind for whoever to take, given to police agencies in the US, or _____?

I would vote for almost of these options, so long as it as being used.
I am currently at Ft. Jackson and sitting on one of our training sites is "FOB" with millions of dollars worth of equipment that is quite literally being left to decay. These are tents, cots, the lot, etc. that could be used elsewhere or sold. Instead, it's all a ruin.
What frustrates me most is that no effort whatsoever was put into saving this equipment. It's not as though it would have been all that difficult just to store it. And this is of course true on posts across the services.
