the only soliders that should wear a beret are the 82nd ABN Div, Rangers and Special Forces....period. It should be earned, not given!

I agree with you about the beret I didn’t earn it and thought it was the biggest insult to the soldiers who did
That being said I didn’t have a choice If you have time to see who did this travesty you find it was implemented to make soldiers feel better about themselves
To whom implemented this they kiss it
And you know it was a pussy civilian

well you technically don't have to shave it but its preferred because it fits better to your head and is not like a giant blanket on your head during summer but nothing in my opinion beats the old school BDU soft cap, it fit like a baseball hat. I don't see why we don't just move to unit baseball style camo caps anyways. You think about it and when you leave the wire you have a Kevlar on anyways so really the only time you have it on is when your working outside and a baseball style cap is awesome during work.

nice! I'm an OC right now at NTC Fort Irwin and we are authorized to wear them during certain times and its always a moral boost

The Corps looked at changing their utility cover back about the time I got out. Berets were the main consideration, but the decided to stay with the traditional design. I'm glad they did. They were inexpensive, and downright serviceable. Never understood the beret craze anyhow.

I'm a '60's era retread, and guess what? The utility cap was the baseball-style cap! Complete with reinforced crown, and bendable bill! This concept is not new!

Why don't they come pre-burned so that I don't have to keep throwing the damn things in the burn pit?
