I don't have a clue about the school, but I have been on the post quite a bit. Reasonable enough Army post, there is quite a bit of new housing built in the last ten years. The absolute closest town is Elizabethtown, which doesn't have a lot going for it. The good news is that it's a reasonable drive into Louisville. Cost of living in the area is reasonable and Louisville close by means you can have a social life and entertainment. The old Armor School facilities were very good.

I wish I could help, I was stationed there 37 years ago an da lot has changed. I will agree with the CPT, Louisville is the better choice for free time, because E-town is in a dry county and so is Knox. The only place to get a drink in on base. There was a bus from Knox to Louisville and it was cheep like $10. Enjoy your time at Knox.

If you are reserve or guard and attend MOS reclass, it can be at Ft Dix, Ft Knox, or Camp Parks, CA. My unit teaches MOS reclass as well as ALC and SLC at those installations.

If you are wondering about time off, the answer is it depends. The course is scheduled for 14 days of training. We are teaching the active duty standard, in much less time. Sometimes if a class is ahead of schedule, they may be able to have a day or afternoon off.
