Can I rejoin the Army (active or Reserve or Guard) and be at 40% VA disability?

If you go Reserves or Guard you will keep your rating..... however, you cannot get paid by the VA and the military for the same day. So the VA will pay you for the 28 days of the months that you are a "civilian" and the Army will pay you your 2 days for drill.

SGT Dave Tracy - Could be Dave never said, I just know he told us he could not draw both. Unfortunately he last time they were going to deploy they found some other medical issues and he had to med board out, I know he didn't want to but not much choice.

you can keep your rating, but dependent on your rating which is more, drill pay or disability pay, mine was disability pay, so drill for the points and get the disability pay

40% disability is nothing pay-wise for 2 days. The Soldier will make more money during a standard 2 day BTA. Oh and hey, SFC Golden! Long time no see! LoL!

It is possible. I know several Soldiers within my BN that have over 50% (and some have like 75% or more) and they attend Battle Training Assembly for Retirement Points only.

Hi SSG, I recently got out this past October (medical discharge, Honorable). I've looked into getting back in but recruiters so far have been giving me the "sorry, can't get back in" treatment without even listening to the full details of my discharge. Would you be able to put me in contact with one of the soldiers who has reenlisted with a VA rating? It would be much appreciated. I haven't personally come across anyone who has done it, if I could get info from one of them as to how they got back in the service that would be amazing.
Good luck & stay safe
