You need to file an I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, and then they have to file for a green card (I-485).
What country is your prospective spouse from, and where are the two of you physically located right now?

SPC (Join to see) - Okay, you're going to have a LITTLE bit of an easier time of it, but not that much. You have to file the I-130 and she has to file for an immigrant visa. There will be questions to establish the legitimacy of your marriage, and then she will have to get a physical exam from a doctor. Have her go to the nearest embassy/consulate to wherever she's located, and you communicate with Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services here.

SPC (Join to see) - My pleasure. Also, let them tell her what doctor to go to in order to get the exam. It's much easier.

Stationed in Okinawa, married a Japanese female and bought her stateside. Cost close to 8k, took about 10 months, and had a ridiculous amount of paperwork to fill out. Give me a shout if you need assistance, if I can help, I will.
