What is the process to get a legislator to help you get your DD368 signed and approved?

I have submitted a DD368 to my unit and it has been close to a year, with absolutely no response from anyone. I just contacted my state legislator to help the process, has anyone does this before, and what was your experience with doing that?

The Army National Guard is very wary of losing soldiers unnecessarily, this is because so many units are short of members that losing even one or two members can cause the loss of a unit. I had the same problem when I left the MAARNG and moved to Florida. Wound up having to file an IG complaint to transfer to the IRR.

Before you contacted your State Legislator, did you run the RFI thru your Chain to find out the status?

SPC(P) (Join to see) - Ok. That may very well save your bacon. Basically the process is that if no help is received at all from your chain and you feel you are being screwed and you contact your Rep.....then the ball is in their court and they will do what they need to do. You may be contacted by your Rep.........and by your CoC. So, have your answers squared away and ready.
