I think that I am ready to be promoted to SSG, since I have been a Sergeant, I have been filling the role of Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, or NCOIC, of something, and this has been since December 2013. I have talked to the NCOIC of my section now, and he is backing me trying to go to the board while in my Secondary Zone, because he thinks that since I have been in this unit I have shown that I can lead. I think that I am ready for the added leadership role; but I was just wondering what does Senior Leadership look for when they send a Soldier to the promotion board who is in their secondary zone.

I am in my secondary zone, I went to the SSG Board. I think that your sponsor will explain why they think you are ready to be a SSG. If they are going to send you , They are just looking to make sure you show competence and confidence and reflect what your leadership told the board members.

SFC Mark Merino, Thank you, the earliest it will be would be November, as that is the timeline that me and my first line came up with (mostly me, since he was ready to send me to the next available board). But I will most assuredly let you and everyone else know how everything goes. Even though I'm sure that my PAC would do just fine losing my packet on their own...lol.

Performance potential and ability at the next level, which you have already addressed. Good luck SFC(P) (Join to see) and if you don't tell us how you did we will have PAC lose your packet.....lol?
