Is this latest move going to make things better or worse in the Mideast, or just spend more of our money?

There will never be peace in the Middle East. It sucks to say, but in my heart I know this to be true.

The only way it will work is to untie the military and say "Just get it done." No holds barred. You need to just go in, clean house and don't hold back. It's our job to arrange the meeting with "ALLAH" they want so bad. Let him sort out the good from the bad. We don't have to set back and just let them run this show. I wish I was President right now. My reply would be simple. I don't care about Serria, Iroq or anyone else. I do care about people's live's and freedoms. So theirfore, I am comming. We are the USA and I don't care or need any other countries permission to kill these people. You get in our way and the same will happen to you. That's it !! Just get the mission done. Kill'em all and let "Allah" sort em out. Nuff said.... Just my Marine opinion. hehehe....

Cpl Rick West This was not done in Korea, Vietnam, nor any of the SWA/Mideast incursions and sorry to say is not likely in the foreseeable future.

Cpl Rick West you are absolutely right. If we look back to our last truly decisive victories, they were against Germany and Japan when we committed everything we had to the fight. No limited bombing campaigns, no peacekeeping missions, no "wait until they shoot at you to shoot back" ROE, we crushed their will to fight, occupied their countries and rebuilt them in our image. It will take no less of an effort to transform Iraq and unless we are willing and able to do so there is no reason to waste any more American lives on half measures.

The ground will be less stable from the explosives loosening the soil. That's about it.

limited effect. Let's face it unless we are willing to get more involved by way of troops on the ground. We are merely applying topical solution to a wound that is deeper.

We all know it, Sir. I just wish the President would nut-up and say it.

The use of air strikes only will cause havoc, but will not stop the terrorists. We can disrupt their logistics and already have, but they have responded with smaller convoys to supply their fighters. The group has grown too large to defeat with air power alone. We used air stikes in Vietnam to support the infantry, but it still took boots on the ground to defeat Mr. Charles. Speaking with my nephew, a Marine grunt who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, the jihadists are fanatical, just like Charles was and and the only way to stop them is one bullet at a time. Obama pulled out too many troops too soon. I liken the Iraqi army to that of the ARVN, they run at the first sign of trouble. I lost my FO because the 42nd ARVN Regiment turned tail and ran at Dak Seang and we had a force twice as large as the NVA and we had air support too. Not enough to keep the cowards from running. The only way to stop the jihadist is with our soldiers, on the ground, taking back territory already paid for in blood.
