Those minutes get accumulated into hours for points IOT be integrated into the system. 5 hours = 1 promotion point, if this is still correct. I would honestly go to JKO and complete courses for promotion points via correspondence hours. They add up much faster then the minute courses on skillport and you can choose MOS based course as well as skill building courses. Just something to look into, but skillport has it's advantages as well

I appreciate it SSG Smith. Good to know! I'm primarily looking two steps forward, but it doesn't hurt to do all you can to stand ahead of your peers. A lot of the SkillPort classes directly translate to certifications, (I.E. Security+, CISSP, CEH, etc.). After looking at all my options, I would love to retire in the Army as a Warrant Officer. Those certifications strengthen that packet.

I think correspondence courses for points now have a timed approximation if you click fast, you have the answers. If slow, I guess you're not grasping the content of the instruction. Before I left, the bulk is more on deployment time. For some reason my acting 1SG said I was promotable so before I left, I used the promotable clause where if you retire and promotable you automatically gain a rank. So I'm basically an E-6 without time in rank and without service in rank for that matter.
