I find video or telepresence type of counseling to be effective but strictly phone is not as effective.
I need consistency in the counselor or any meeting is not effective.

In a way, yes. Was having some issues and wanted to bounce it off a really great friend that doesn't sugarcoat anything. Told me to pull my head out of my ass and start moving forward. Oddly enough, that worked for me.

Yes, sometimes my therapist cannot make an appointment to my home, so we do a Phone conversation. IMHO, not as effective, but maybe the VA could use that application where you talk into your computer so they can see your facial expressions, etc!!!
