I am always in aww when I here Soldiers of many ranks speak about all the things that are wrong with the military and what they expect to see. The military seems to be soooo great on the 1st and the 15th when its time to get paid but people feel that everything else the military is doing it so wrong. From, not enough pay, NCOER, Regs, Pt, promotion selection, orders and the list goes on and on. We have been the one of the greatest military for years, before we joined and perhaps after we have joined so what makes us feel that the system is so broken and needs our input? What do you think?

"Leadership is solving problems. The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership."

It's human nature to complain - Military or Civilian.  I'm coming up on 17 years of service and I can't imagine a day without hearing at least one gripe/complaint - it wouldn't feel right.

That being said - I complain too...but I'm odd, I try to think of better resolutions to my complaints.

Complaining doesn't really bother me, at least at my level. When guys come at you with issues or complaints, that means they trust your leadership, when they stop coming to you is when you should worry. Do I complain to my fellow SSGs about certain higher ranking individuals.....all the time, if its something legit, I'll bring it up to them, if its something about their leadership or tasking, I may not agree with it, and I may slip a word or two to my peers while I'm getting it done, but its getting done.
