Saw this movie recently and was just curious if anyone else had seen it and noticed any minor or major mistakes!

Ironically, Kanika Misra, the most controversial mistake in this movie is one of racial miscasting. One of the stars, Emma Stone, was cast as Allison Ng, the daughter of a Chinese-Hawaiian father and a Swedish mother. She just couldn't carry it off, and the director, Cameron Crowe, and Emma Stone ultimately felt compelled to apologize.

There are more than a few articles about it, PO1 John Crafton. They may give you a different perspective. I thought it was a terrible movie when I saw it, and I never even considered the military mistakes or the miscasting.

PO1 John Crafton, I'm aware of the whitewashing issue, and I think it's overblown as well. I think a director or producer of a movie (whoever makes the selection, I don't know) should be able to pick whomever they please to star in their movie. People tend to forget that one of the principal motives in making a movie is for it to make money. That usually takes star power. If people are upset about the selections they can elect to not see the movie, or write a poor review, or protest. It's of no consequence to me.
I can think of numerous movies: Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra, Ricardo Montalban in Sayonara, Rex Harrison in Anna and the King of Siam, Marlon Brando in The Teahouse of the August Moon, Jean Simmons in Splendor in the Grass, Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's, just to name a few, where the whitewashing bordered on the absurd. In all of these movies, the people who cast those actors had little or no concern as to proper ethnicity, but had their eyes on the box office. It's business.
Kanika Misra asked about military mistakes in the movie, and I simply pointed out a "mistake" that had caused quite a controversy, despite its lack of military application.

I know too much about this movie but please bear with me. I didn't see any glaring or memorable mistakes when I watched it, I went into it being pretty skeptical, and all of the choices seemed to be pretty reasonable. I didn't actively seek out the information but I wouldn't be shocked if the AF provided technical guidance for the film. Especially when you consider that at one time or another Emma Stone's character is wearing a different AF uniform combination as well as all of the different cool aircraft and jobs being shown off.
Fun Fact: the person that Emma Stone's character was based on was white but had some Hawaiian heritage, of which the lady was very proud of.
