You also have the option of doing a partial DITY (I think there's a new name for it) and working out the details with a private moving company. They'll do whatever you pay them to do. I was able to do a pretty complicated movement with 2 pickups in different cities, 2 drop offs in different cities, and temporary storage of my stuff all within the authorized budget.

Think I've done a few moves like that with some stuff in storage and some at a Temporary Residence.

I believe as long as it is within a set radius of your duty station they can and will pick up from a storage facility.

I live about 30 miles from post. We are packing our house and putting it into storage and moving in with the in laws until we PCS in June. So we will have the storage locker and some essentials at the house to be picked up

When I PCSed to my current duty station (Hawaii), I had stuffed shipped from both Chicago and San Francisco.

It shouldn't be a problem.
