My clothing record reflects me having to turn in all except the waffles and silks. (Including the turn in of uniforms) Does anyone have some more information on deployment equipment turn in? It just doesn't make much sense for me to turn in all of these items just to "maybe" get a matching set when I get to my next duty station.

Yes if it states turn in, I suggest you turn in. There are many reasons but it is better to turn in then drag that stuff around. Choose your battles wisely and this is not one.

When I came back from OEF got to keep the MultiCam shirts and trousers and the Camelbak. Guess the Army didn't want it back after you spit all over it!

Think of it this way: your division has purchased enough oef-cp gear to accommodate; we'll say 65% of their troops. You are one of their troops that got lucky enough to have received it. If you transfer posts without passing it off to another troop, it would now have to purchase additional to make up for you.
in other words, its not about you and your convenience. its about the army as a whole. but yes it sucks.
