Today I found out I picked up 2nd class (good news). I went through PO2 indoc at my last command. My last command put all our petty officers through the course so we could knock it out early. Now, since I just picked up 2nd class, im wondering if I have to go through PO2 indoc again. Ive done research. Cant find a direct answer. The date was May 2015 and it is documented in my ETJ. Thanks.

When your CO signed your request chit for promotion it stated you were "qualified in all respect for the next paygrade...." Check with you ESO................

It will probably be that you do not need to do the indoc again, but now that you are at a new command, there might be duties and expectations for PO2s that are different from your old command. Maybe you should go through the indoc at your new command to make sure you know what will be expected of you at this command.

First of all, Congrats. Good for you for doing the course early, but with every Command they may require you to attend it again depending if they added or amended any additional course instruction. Check with your Chief or personnel dept to make sure. Keep up the good work.

There is no "expiration" per se, but as mentioned above the course may have been updated in the last 18 months. Another thing, check your service jacket and make sure your course attendance and successful completion in May 2015 are logged correctly or you will have to take the course again at your new command. Congratulations Shipmate!
