Well for me, it was getting my name out there with all the SNCOs and Officers so when it was time for me to separate, I already had a good reputation and I was well known in my field so when a job opened up, I had people calling me and telling me where to submit my resume.

SSG (Join to see) -It is never too early begin your Federal Resume and continue to update it as you move forward in order to better support your transition to the next chapter.

Is there much of a difference between a regular and federal resume ?
I have made one already and have steadily applying.

SSG (Join to see) -Actually there is. With a federal resume, you capture ALL of your experience which for some, can be up to 10 pages or more; of course based on career length. However, with a civilian resume, some companies may only require you to capture 5-10 years of experience (position dependent) in which you will not be able to highlight each and every aspect of your experience but at least you capture the most powerful and illuminating ones.

SSG (Join to see) - Someone at a career fair told me the same thing. You have to spell EVERYTHING out for the bots.
