Currently in Korea. I will be reenlisting here in the next few months. I'm trying to decide between Ft. LeonardWood and Hawaii. I'm a MP so going to the home of the corps would be great for career progression. On the other hand Hawaii would be a great black for school opprotunities as well with a great location. I would like to have some insight into both. I am a single soldier also. So no one to really think about besides myself.

I'm in Hawaii as a single soldier, and I personally think it is awful. It's full of deployment shammers, regulation nazis (I've been corrected a few times when I was in the right), and overcrowded with all branches. Don't let the white sand beaches fool you, you won't get to spend much time on them.

I beg you to start working/continue working towards your degree. With all these cutbacks the college grads will have the better chance to do their 20. Just my opinion and we all know about opinions :)

I just came from Lost in the Woods. Its not for me. Everything is hours away. I mean if you like driving then i guess it isn't to bad, there is no nightlife which was big for me when i was single.
Being married there were no decent paying jobs for my wife. it was so bad she went back to ft lewis and got her old job back while i finished the last year of AIT PSG.
Freaking BCT and AIT Soldiers...EVERYWHERE. So be very careful. Don't even make a correction towards them let their DS or PSG handle it.
Good things:
You get ALOT of house for the money there. I mean a lot if you stay off post. There is no traffic to get on and off base, if you are an outdoorsman its a great area.

Thats just my opinion on Leonardwood...have fun
