I've been an MP for over 12 years. "Back in the day" it seemed like even if we hated each other, we banded together when we got messed with by others. Now it appears as if the Corps has switched to an "every man for himself" mentality and the prime objective is to look out for number one. Despite the bad experiences I have had and my feelings of getting f**ked over, I still try to look at this objectively and in the end, I just don't see the same camaraderie that used to exist. What say you? Please also cast your vote!

SGT Scotto - It's not just the MP Corps. Its Army wide. We have many persons that were promoted on their battlefield accomplishments not on the total Soldier concept. Leaders do not know how to or are unwilling to mentor anyone whom they see as a potential threat to their position. I do not do what I do to make friends. I do it to keep people safe. I train Soldiers to the best of my ability so that in a firefight they have my back and we all come home. I want them to replace me someday. I want to know I am leaving the Army in capable hands, especially my beloved MP Corps, when I retire. I'm afraid that Political Correctness will over ride the truth. Leaders don't want to hear the truth. They want to be told they are doing a good job and we can't live without them.

When I was in the MPs back in the 70s, we worked together very well. Did not seem to be a competition at all. We had each others back and if there was an incident it seemed like the whole MP company was there. Don't know about now, but we went to the matt for each other. Always could count on a good donnybrook. My partner was the greatest on street patrol; could totally count on him! Sorry to hear of the differences....hang in there.....

Always watch your back! The mp corp is full of blue falcons. Always someone trying to kiss someone's ass to get a head.
